Despite not being as robust as other ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals give enough stability for complicated architectural designs when compared to their weight. These metals are more malleable than iron alloys, making them ideal for shaping into any shape.

These metals have industrial applications because of their ability of fabrication (such as rolling, forging, casting, welding, and machining), electrical and thermal conductivity, etc. In the Building Hardware industry, non-ferrous forging alloys are suitable as these are economical, resistant to corrosion and light in weight.
